For ideakickSF 2 we ran an experiment (I guess when you think about it the entire event is an experiment) where we allowed Muj Naqvi, CEO of Bonvoy, to present his idea for a “new” feature within his existing product.  ideakick has only one rule and that is that the idea you’re pitching must be something new (i.e. you can’t have already built it).  If you’ve already built the thing you’re pitching, that’s called a “product” not an “idea.”  Practically speaking, it makes it hard for people to “kick” the idea around because if you have a product, you’ve already committed to a certain path, and it’s much more difficult to “turn back now” so to speak.

Muj was truly the guinea pig in that he was the first person who has had to present a new idea related to an existing product he had created.  I credit him for being able to do so without telling us very much about his existing company.  I think he got some great feedback and a lot of enthusiasm for the payment idea he pitched for Bonvoy.  Hope it comes to fruition Muj and let us know so we can say we heard about it first!
